In Detail

The CFT series of 100BaseTX to 100BaseFX converters have been designed to overcome the distance limitations associated with twisted pair cabling. The CFT series provides a simple, cost effective method of gaining access to fibre segments of your LAN.

Single mode and 820nm options

Incorporated into the CFT range are four converter units that support single mode optics. They all have the same 100BaseTX port but each has a single mode fibre port making it possible to drive 100Mbps data up to 40Km with the CFT-2061-LSM. The CFT-820P is the industry's FIRST short wavelength TX to FX converter. The innovative design meets all short wavelength standards, whilst surpassing the competition in both performance and transmission range.

Auto negotiation / Full and Half duplex

The CFT range supports 100Mbps, half and full duplex Auto-Negotiation that provides a seamless connection every time. Full and half duplex operation can be hard set and locked in either mode via a switch. Parallel detection is also supported.

TX and FX transmission distances

All models in the CFT series have a 100BaseTX port that supports a transmission range of up to 100m using Category 5 UTP cabling.
The CFT-2061 and CFT-2062 support a range of 2Km (full duplex) and 412m (half duplex) over multi mode fibre optic cable.
The CFT-2061-SM supports a range up to 20Km while the CFT-2008-SM supports a range up to 8Km over single mode fibre.
The CFT-2061-LSM supports a range up to 40Km using single mode fibre.
The CFT-820P supports a range of 700m over multi mode fibre optic cabling.
