In Detail The FMUX-01 is a highly flexible, compact fibre optic multiplexer. 1U high, fully modular and with the ability to multiplex up to 16 2Mbps circuits over fibre, the FMUX-01 provides a system that can be tailored and expanded to meet future demands of the network. From the rear of the chassis, one to four quad E1, T1, datacom (V.35, X.21, RS-530), or Ethernet Bridge cards are supported. All line cards provide completely transparent transmission of E1, T1, datacom, or Ethernet regardless of frame mode or timeslot assignment. The FMUX-01 can be fitted with a wide array of fibre optic transport modules, from short range 2Km multimode to long range 120Km singlemode. Each fibre module is available with 1+1 protection to ensure high availability of service. The FMUX-01 can also be equipped with WDM (wave division multiplexing) modules for transmission across a single core of fibre. The FMUX-01 can be AC or DC powered with the option of dual power supplies. The FMUX-01 is managed via a VT-100 RS232 port or via an optional Ethernet management module that supports Telnet and SNMP. Alternatively, the FMUX-01 can be managed via the front panel LCD and function keys. The FMUX-01 can be remotely managed from a local unit using the embedded communication channel contained within the fibre link. |
