In Detail

The Liberator is designed to be a flexible ISDN cross-connect mux, conversion, simultation and routing unit. The Liberator S is a stand-alone 1U ISDN converter with single internal AC/DC PSU that supports up to 3 PRI interfaces and up to 16 BRIs. A non-blocking cross-connect switch with connections to the network (TE) and to local ISDN equipment (NT) in both BRI and PRI.

The unit will connect any port to any port and any ‘B’ channel to any ‘B’ channel giving full cross-connectivity between all local ports and network channels.

Low-cost, and available with many different port configurations from a single PRI and 4 BRIs, Liberator S shares advanced routing and number manipulation capabilities with other Liberator models. Using the intuitive GUI, different options can be set to tailor the use, connectivity, least cost routing and other advanced features.

Applications

The Liberator is ideal if you need to switch or convert between BRI, PRI, E1 or T1, have a number of conversion or translation requirements, need to route different ports on any number of criteria. However, the Liberator can also be used for:

  • sharing ISDN network access between multiple local devices;
  • dellivering fractional PRIs from network BRIs;
  • as an enabling tool for VoIP migration; in conjunction with mobile gateways;
  • as a least cost router;
  • as a fall-back system; delivering ISDN economically to multi-tenant buildings;
  • international "break-out" for data ISDN services;
  • number conversion tool
