In Detail

The FMC-10/100IP is a standalone unit that can be connected to the FRM220, SNMP in-band managed platform. In-band managed, all converter settings can be controlled and monitored from a centrally located rack.

FMC-10/100IP is a 10/100Base Ethernet to 10/100Base-FX fibre media converter. Equipped with advanced features like Operations, Administration, and Maintenance (OAM) in-band management, this converter is suitable for metro LAN, campus, enterprise and FTTx applications where the highest level of administrative control is required.

Power over Ethernet (PoE) enabled, the FMC-10/100IP is capable of drawing power from any PoE switch, eliminating the need for any other power supply.

The FMC-10/100IP is equipped with a range of carrier-class features such as Fibre Hardware Reset, bandwidth control, store and forward, support for jumbo frames and Dying Gasp.

Bandwidth control, duplex and speed configuration allow client bandwidth provision to be controlled and restricted, driving new revenues and increasing ROI.

The FMC-10/100IP is completely transparent to Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols including IEEE 802.1q, VLAN tag, Q-in-Q, STP, IPX and IP among others. This transparency in addition to store & forward and support for jumbo packets, increases network speed and efficiency.

The Benefits

  • Power over Ethernet (PoE) eliminates the need for any other power supply. Designed for use in situations where the converter may be located a significant distance from a mains power supply.
  • Bandwidth Control (32K or 512Kbps x N) provides the opportunity to control and limit the client's bandwidth provision in order to drive new revenues and increase ROI.
  • The Fibre Hardware Reset function allows for individual units to be remotely reset, minimising network downtime.
  • Support for jumbo packets (up to 9K in convert mode) increases network speed and efficiency.
  • Dying Gasp provides remote CPE power failure detection.
