In Detail

The FRM220-Serial provides a fibre converter solution to extend RS-232 or RS-485 transmission distances up to 2Km over multi-mode fibre or up to 120Km over single-mode fibre.

The FRM220-Serial is a standalone converter designed for CO (rack) to CPE (standalone) applications and is equipped with multiple interface circuits, for connection to RS-232, or RS-485/422 (2 or 4-wire).

The FRM220-Serial is ideal for military use as it secures data transmission over EMI resistant fibre at speeds of up to 256Kbps for RS-232 or up to 1024Kbps for RS-422/485.

When linked to the FRM220 in-band manged chassis, this converter allows network engineers to get greater functionality through advanced SNMP features. In-band managed, the network administrator can manage any converter module from anywhere on the network, detect any link loss and maintain each loop.

The Benefits

  • Ideal in high security enironments as this converter transmits data over EMI resistant fibre.
  • Extend analogue transmission distance by up to 120Km.
  • In-band managed, providing local or remote configuration and maintenance.
