In Detail

The UMUX family are flexible access multiplexers combining the ability to integrate traditional voice and data services into PDH and SDH networks. The modular concept allows the provisioning and transport of mixed services to be multiplexed onto high speed carriers wherever the infrastructure exists.

UMUX access multiplexers

The UMUX family are ideally suited to access networks where mixed services can be provisioned and multiplexed over the same high speed carriers. The UMUX can be easily integrated into all types of network topologies such as linear, ring, star or fully meshed.

Full non-blocking digital cross connect (DXC) functionality ensures maximum flexibility when providing mixed services. The UMUX 1500 has a DXC capacity of 128 x 2Mbps.

The PDH and SDH interfaces allow UMUX network elements to be seamlessly incorporated into the core carrier network. Alternatively the high speed trunk interfaces can be used to build pure UMUX networks.

Advanced management facilities allow every UMUX element to be accessed via dedicated communication channels. Each UMUX has an in built IP router, providing simple TCP/IP based remote management.
