Ethernet Switch with 4x10/100BaseT ports and 4x100BaseFX Ports
The FRM220-SWI is an Ethernet Switch with 4x 10/100BaseT ports and 4x 100BaseFX ports. It is a custom made product assembled from components in the FRM220 Fibre converter family of converters, modems and line drivers, including the:
- FRM220-CH02-NMC SNMP Manageable Two Slot Chassis
- FRM220-10/100AS-2 dual channel 10/100BaseTX to 100BaseFX media converter
- 155Mb LC 1000Base-SX, multi-mode, SFP transceiver module
- Cat5e Interlinking Cable
Components:
The FRM220-CH02/NMC is an SNMP Manageable Two Slot Chassis which supports backplane connection between two slots. It also supports either one or two single width blades or one double width blade and is available with three types of power options - built-in AC, DC or built-in AC+DC dual power.

The FRM220-10/100AS-2 is a dual channel 10/100BaseTX to 100BaseFX media converter. Offering 2 converters in a single package the unit is perfect in high density environments. The FRM220-10/100AS-2 is fully compliant with IEEE802.3ah OAM (Operations, Administration and Maintenance or Ethernet in the first mile) and is ideal for deployments that require a high degree of diagnostic capability. The OAM functions enable a remote FRM220-10/100AS-2 to be configured and managed from a central location in-band across the fibre link. OAM functionality can greatly reduce maintenance costs by diagnosing problems centrally and negating the need for engineers to attend remote locations.

The 155Mb LC 1000Base-SX, multi-mode, SFP transceiver module comes in a variety of data rates and different fibre coverages. This particular SFP Transceiver is used solely in the FRM220-SWI custom built product.
The Cat5e cable is used extensively in structured cabling for computer networks such as Ethernet as well as to carry other signals such as telephony and video. The relevant Cat5e cable is provided.
