RS-232/422/485 Serial Device Server

The Device Server allows a fast and easy network connection of serial devices with RS-232/422/485 interfaces. The use is universal and independent of the type of the serial interface. Transmission takes place via the existing Ethernet IP-topology. For the connection to the Ethernet network the device has one RJ-45 port (10/100Base-TX) or fibre uplink (100Base-FX). The devices are very compact and are designed for mounting on DIN-rails. A virtual COM port is set up on a control PC through the installation of special drivers. This enables any number of device servers to be connected. Communication with the devices takes place via the network connection of the PC. In the case of a point-to-point application the devices can also be used in pairs after appropriate configuration. Powerful Windows software facilitates the configuration and control of devices. The type of interface (RS-232/422/485) can be freely selected. For the Ethernet connection, depending on the version, the devices have two RJ-45 connectors (2 port switch 10/100BaseTX or for redundant connection) and a fibre optic uplink (1x 100BaseFX).
