In Detail

The FOT-PM is an optical test meter used to determine signal loss over fibre cabling. A single FOT-PM can be attached to existing fibre transmission equipment and the associated fibre to determine optical power.

In order to test installed fibre, a pair of FOT-PM's can be used, one to transmit and the other to receive and display the results of the test.

Combining a laser source function with an optical power meter, the unit can test both multimode and singlemode fibre cabling in 2 wavelengths of 1310 and 1550nm. In addition to measuring absolute and relative power values, the FOT-PM can also perform a self-testing system to measure optical loss on fibre cable or other passive devices.

The FOT-PM has a large memory capacity and can transfer tested data to a PC, with the included windows software, for analysis, reporting and printing of previously stored data.
