The FMUX-01 is a highly flexible compact fibre optic multiplexer. 1U high, fully modular with the ability to multiplex up to 16 2Mbps circuits over fibre. The FMUX-01 offers users a system that they can tailor and expand to meet the future demands of their network. |
From the rear of the chassis, one to four quad E1, T1, datacom (V.35, X.21, RS-530), or Ethernet Bridge cards are supported. All line cards provide completely transparent transmission of E1, T1, datacom, or Ethernet regardless of frame mode or timeslot assignment.

The FMUX-01 can be fitted with a wide array of fibre optic transport modules, from short range 2Km multimode to long range 120Km singlemode. Each fibre module is available with 1+1 protection to ensure high availability of service. The FMUX-01 can also be equipped with WDM (wave division multiplexing) modules for transmission across a single core of fibre. |
The FMUX-01 can be AC or DC powered with the option of dual power supplies. |
Management of the FMUX-01 is via a VT-100 RS232 port or via an optional Ethernet management module that supports Telnet and SNMP. Alternatively the FMUX-01 can be managed via the front panel LCD and function keys. Management of the remote FMUX-01 is possible from the local with the embedded communication channel contained within the fibre link.
