ML600 Series (ML630, ML640 & ML650)
The ML600 portfolio delivers high speed Ethernet over up to 16 bonded copper pairs utilizing G.SHDSL technology. All ML600 platforms come in a compact 1U high by half rack width wide, hardened, fixed form factor chassis, that can be easily deployed either as an EAD/NTU in a Point-To-Multi-Point scenario, or at both ends of the link in a Point-To-Point scenario. The ML600 rate and reach can be further extended using Actelis’ XR239 repeaters. ML600's are MEF CE 2.0 certified and support up to 6 flexible Ethernet user interfaces to accommodate different deployment scenarios. Additional deployment flexibility is enabled with Actelis’ compact enclosures that can support both ML600 as well as remote or local power modules for ease of installation.

The ML630 Ethernet Access Devices (EADs) are intelligent, compact EADs that deliver up to 100 Mbps of symmetrical Ethernet traffic with fibre quality over existing copper pairs. The ML630 supports 8 copper pairs with optional SFP fibre configurations. The ML630 EAD can be deployed in a Point-to-Point configuration, optional copper Add-Drop chain, or as the CPE in a Point-to-Multi-Point configuration with Actelis’ EFM switches. With its superior performance, extensive functionality and low cost, the ML630 EAD platforms offer rapid service delivery and allow for complete utilization of the existing network infrastructure. The ML630 EAD platforms are interoperable with any standard Ethernet switch, router or hub. Compliant with Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) specifications, ML630 EAD systems seamlessly integrate into carrier Ethernet Networks. Equipped with 4 10/100Base-T Ethernet interfaces and an optional 100/1000Base-FX Small Form Factor (SFP) port, the ML630 EAD platform allows assignment of a service or a customer per port. The ML630 EAD models let service providers create an intelligent Ethernet access edge with bandwidth limiting per ingress port and traffic shaping on the Ethernet access uplink (HSL). The ML630 is fully compliant with the MEF 9 and 14 specifications.
The ML640 Ethernet Access Device (EAD) is the most intelligent Ethernet service delivery on the market. Using the existing copper network, the ML640 can deliver up to 230 Mbps of symmetrical Ethernet traffic at fibre quality over existing voice-grade copper. The ML640 comes in three models capable of supporting 4, 8 or 16 copper pairs, and has 2 optional SFP interfaces supporting 100/1000Base-FX optical connections. The ML640 EAD can be deployed back-to-back in a Point-to-
Point topology or in Multi-Point topologies with Actelis’ Ethernet aggregation switches. With its superior performance, extensive functionality and low cost, the ML640 EAD offers rapid service delivery and allows for complete utilization of the existing network infrastructure. The ML640 EAD is interoperable with any standard Ethernet switch, router or hub. Compliant with Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) specifications, ML640 EADs seamlessly integrate into carrier Ethernet networks. Equipped with four 10/100Base-T Ethernet interfaces and 2 optional 100/1000Base-FX Small Form Factor (SFP) ports, the ML640 EAD allows assignment of a service or a customer per port. DS3/E3 uplinks can be used to connect to legacy networks instead of the 100/1000Base-FX SFPs.
The ML650 Ethernet Access Devices (EADs) enable simultaneous delivery of E1/T1s (MEF 8 CESoETH) and high-speed carrier Ethernet services. With up to 4 E1/T1s and 100 Mbps of fibre-quality symmetrical Ethernet traffic over existing copper pairs, the ML650 EADs provide a cost-effective solution for Mobile, DSLAM, MSAP, BLC and PBX backhaul applications. Available in 4 and 8 copper pairs and fibre configurations, the ML650 EADs offer rapid service delivery over a converged Ethernet facility, allowing for complete future-proof utilization of the existing network infrastructure. The ML650 introduces a novel resilient clocking solution with timing accuracy better than that provided by traditional E1/T1 circuits. This solution complies with wander and jitter requirements of ITU-T G.823/G.824 for synchronization interfaces. Actelis has developed this advanced clock transmission mechanism to eliminate all carrier concerns related to clock recovery over pseudo wire. This unique architecture ensures that the ML650 provides Actelis’ customers with the best clock accuracy and reliability of any copper-based backhaul solution. The ML650 supports various clock interfaces such as synchronous Ethernet (over copper or fibre), E1/T1, and 2MHz.
The Actelis ML650 EAD is the first copper-based solution that can truly support a comprehensive and seamless migration strategy for wireless backhaul. With its definitive solution to the clock synchronization problem, Actelis’ ML650 is finally enabling wireless backhaul providers to fully utilize the copper networks using Ethernet and pseudo wire technology to complement and/or replace traditional E1/T1 backhaul circuits. ML650 EAD models provide 802.1q VLANaware wirespeed bridging, double tagging (VLAN stacking) for enduser VLAN transparency, L2 (Ethernet priority) and L3 (ToS/Diff-Serv) classification with 8 traffic classes, RSTP/STP, bandwidth monitoring, Multicast/Broadcast limiting, 2Base-TL rate limiting and Link Aggregation (LAG) on all Ethernet ports, as well as IGMP snooping for video distribution applications. The ML650 enables flexible service provisioning using Ethernet Virtual Connections (EVCs) and Quality of Service (QoS) capabilities that maximize the efficiency of access bandwidth and strictly enforce Service Level Agreements for each subscriber and class of service, allowing service providers to safely aggregate multiple services or multiple subscribers on the same access port. Implementing the IEEE 802.3ah-2004 (EFM) long-reach, Ethernet over copper specification, the ML650 EAD bonds up to 8 copper pairs together to create a 2Base-TL aggregated link. The systems support current and evolving Ethernet QoS requirements and have the highest available packet throughput efficiency.
