Lanode announce the release and availability of its unique
Fibre Optic Multiplexer (FOM4) Family,
able to multiplex up to 4 x E1/T1 lines and 100Mbps wire-speed
Ethernet over Fibre with 1+1 protection.
London – 21st July 2011 – Lanode, a specialist provider of networking, transmission and data communication solutions is pleased to announce the availability of its latest range of Fibre Optic Multiplexers, unique in their ability to transmit up to 4 x E1/T1 channels and 100Mbps wire-speed Ethernet with 1+1 fibre protection. Attractive to carriers who want to reduce the amount of deployable equipment, the FOM4 family provides a diverse range of services from a single platform.
Carrier class by design, the units offer as standard, interfaces including 4 x E1/T1, 1 x 100Mbps Ethernet, 1 x RS232 serial port and 1 x Order-wire. Available as either a line card for use within the FRM220 platform (which offers the widest range of fibre optic modems, converters and line drivers that can be housed and managed in a single chassis), or as a standalone device designed for use at the customer premises. Both units encompass dual SPF 'pluggable' optics designed to ensure continuous service by enabling 1+1 fibre protection. The CPE device presents both 75 and 1200hm E1 presentations as well as options for dual AC or DC power supplies.
Powerful management is included as standard with built-in SNMP agents and web based management. For larger deployments the FOM4, in conjunction with the FRM220 platform can provide centralised management right to the CPE via the embedded communications channel (ECC) contained within the fibre link. This enables full visibility of CPE equipment, and new services may be provisioned without sending engineering staff to site.
In summary the FOM4 is a versatile and compact solution for the delivery of new service opportunities for operators looking to maximise their revenue.
